This morning I woke with the words ‘Don’t Quit’ in my mind and smiled. It was the first time in what has felt like a while, that I woke and smiled. It made me feel happy again.
Yesterday, I found myself having a very challenging day and whilst driving I was awestruck by the brightness of a rainbow which appeared in the sky before me. It was coupled with two others and I had never seen anything like this before. It was so beautiful and vivid that I just wanted to stop and take a photo! Obviously this wasn’t going to be possible. Instead, I captured a ‘magic moment’ in my mind and vowed to myself to use this experience to later share with you for a passion pitch…
It reminded me of a little keepsake card (the credit card style that fits in your purse) that a friend gifted me in a time of need. On it is pictured a sun and a rainbow and under the words ‘Don’t Quit’, it reads:
Sometimes your day is perfect
and turns out exactly right.
Sometimes, no matter what you do,
it’s like an uphill fight. Some days when it’s hard to smile,
it gets you down a bit.
Life can get on top of you
but don’t you ever quit!
I now use it as a bookmark and carry those words with me as a reminder to keep going, knowing that better days will come. Just like a rainbow cannot exist without both sun and rain, there is no day without light and dark and life will not journey without good days and bad. Seeing all the beautiful colours in the rainbow, for me, sparked joy and happiness and I felt blessed in that moment to be able to appreciate it, knowing that I was still going and hadn’t given up. What equally made it special, was the realisation that out of something so changing like the weather, comes beauty and this is the same in life.
Pictured below is my current place of work. A special place that I have been blessed to also call home for many years now. At present, I find myself going through big changes with both and whilst it is uneasy, I know I must keep going because it will bring opportunity for a new chapter in my life.
Practice a little perserverance in your life… Equally, if you know someone who is in need, why not gift them a little rainbow magic to help them keep going?
