I first read these words on a motivational calendar that I owned a few years ago. They resonated with me, at a time in my life when I was trying to make such positive change. I cut out the pretty page and framed it. Hung in my home for all to see who visited. It was important to me. Now, again, at a point in my life when I am trying to further develop as a person and make positive change, I find myself coming back to these words to ground me.
As written before, life does not exist without good days and bad and the journey is not always smooth. There are lessons to be learnt along the way and the experience shapes us. One discovery I have come to make is that I know I was put on this earth to help others. I believe it is now my purpose in life, a calling if you will. Through these passion pitches I hope to share insight on self help and personal development and instill a little positive change.
‘Imagine if everyone in the world was five percent kinder’
I listened to a podcast this morning and knew within the first few minutes it was one for me! Jay Shetty’s ‘On Purpose’ series is an interesting deep dive and has been invaluable in helping me. This episode discusses the value of kindness, not only importantly to ourselves but more so to others. This is the message I want to share today. Kindness costs us nothing. Through this act, people help the people. It has now become one of my core values and I aim to live my life by this each day as best I can.
Practice being a little kinder in your life, both with yourself and towards others. You’d be amazed at what positive change it may just make! With love and in kindness. Holley Clare xx
