Here it goes…my first blog post! I’m going to try and keep this short and sweet…
My page is titled ‘A Passion Pitch’ because quite simply that’s what my wish for this outlet is. A safe space where thoughts and ideas can be shared in an open and honest way, that allows readers to dip into and hopefully takeaway a little sparkle of gold. I aim to publish personal yet positive posts that come from my own experiences, with the intention to bring light to others in this beautiful world we call life. I hope you enjoy reading and more so, I hope it helps.
This first post, ‘From broken to beautiful’, captures my passion for learning and developing from what may be a difficult and even painful situation. I first came across these wonderful words, when actually dining out at a Wagamamas (other restaurants are available!) and it resonated with me so much that, of course, I had to photograph the paper table mat on which they were printed. The image, alongside, showed a dish with it’s cracks painted gold. *Intrigue*… What was the life message here? I wondered. The placemat read the following:
Share more than a meal with a friend…
Kintsugi is the japanese art of mending broken pottery. Instead of concealing the cracks, gold is used to emphasise the beauty of what was once broken. The moment we accept and share our struggles, is the moment we begin to paint our own cracks with gold. Wear them with pride as they are a map of a life lived, leaving us stronger and more beautiful than before. #shareandrepair
Wow. What a profound and meaningful message this was. I found this so inspiring that it would have been silly to let it pass me by uncaptured. Here I am, nearly 3 years later, sharing it with you. For the last few years I have experienced my own struggles, as do we all, but now the time has come to share and repair. I hope by doing this, it will also bring some hope to you. Please also note that this initiative referenced their partner affiliate mentalhealthmates
Why not practice a little Kintsugi in your life? A ‘share and repair’ kit could also be a lovely gift to give to someone special…
With love and in kindness,
Holley Clare xx
